The best Promptwatch alternatives are Geodde, Peec AI, Profound, AthenaHQ, Otterly.AI, Scrunch, Semrush and Ahrefs. We make Geodde, and we say plainly where another tool fits better.
Disclaimer: The information in this article comes from our own research into each product, carried out in October 2026. Pricing, features and plans change. Before you make a decision, check each product's own website and speak to the vendor directly to get the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Promptwatch is an AI search visibility platform. It monitors brand visibility across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and other models, with country, state and city tracking. Its Content Agent uses citation data to draft, refresh and publish content directly to Webflow, Framer and WordPress. Business and Enterprise plans add Shopping Insights and Ads Radar, and a Fact Checking feature compares what AI says about your brand against your knowledge base. An MCP server with around 130 tools, a REST API and optional CDN crawler-log integration are on every plan.
If you leave Promptwatch, you give up that breadth of model coverage, the depth of its crawler-log analytics, its shopping and ads tracking, and its MCP toolset. The Essential and Professional plans have a seven-day free trial; Business and Enterprise go through a demo or sales call.
Teams look elsewhere mainly because of fit. Promptwatch covers monitoring and execution, but it is a broad platform aimed at brands and agencies of many kinds. Some teams need something more opinionated about what to do next, some need a lower price point, and some need active off-site execution rather than just insight into it. Where Promptwatch remains the better choice is when a team needs wide model coverage, publishing to Webflow, Framer or WordPress from one platform, and developer-grade access through an MCP server and API on every plan.
Best for: Early-stage teams and marketing generalists scaling up who need content that gets cited in AI search, without a technical SEO specialist.
What it is: Geodde is an AI search platform built for start-ups and scale-ups. It combines prompt tracking with a prescribed playbook for answering buyers' questions using AI-assisted content built from your own experts' knowledge, and it publishes directly to Webflow on self-serve plans.
Also worth knowing: Geodde is not built for large-scale prompt monitoring. If high-volume tracking across many models is the priority, Promptwatch, Profound or AthenaHQ will serve that better.
Pricing (checked October 2026): US$189/month (Professional) or US$499/month (Scale), with a 14-day trial and 10 seats. After Search is priced on enquiry.
Choose it if you are an early-stage team or a generalist scaling up, you want a clear playbook rather than a blank analytics dashboard, and you need content published from your own experts' knowledge rather than scraped from the web.
Best for: Start-up to mid-market teams that want AI search analytics and already have people to act on the data.
What it is: Peec AI is an analytics-led AI search platform. It tracks brand visibility and citations across AI engines, surfaces ranked improvement actions and lets you optimise page content in an editor - though you publish changes yourself.
Also worth knowing: Peec tracks AI Ads and AI Shopping by product. A Fact-checking feature compares what AI says about your brand against facts you provide. An Objections view groups the arguments AI makes against you. Self-serve plans pick three models. The pricing page did not show prices when checked in October 2026.
Pricing (checked October 2026): Three self-serve monthly plans (Starter 50, Pro 150 and Advanced 350 prompts), all with unlimited users and daily tracking. An annual Enterprise plan is available through sales. Prices were not published on the pricing page at the time of checking.
Choose it if you want analytics-led AI search tracking at a low technical barrier, and you have the team to act on the recommendations yourself.
Best for: Mid-market and enterprise marketing teams that need large-scale analytics, AI agents and enterprise governance.
What it is: Profound is a marketing platform that combines monitoring, agents and content creation. Its AI Marketer identifies work worth doing, drafts it and pings you for approval. Agents can publish directly to a CMS, and a FactCheck feature traces inaccurate claims back to publishers and drafts corrections.
Also worth knowing: No public pricing - a 7-day trial (50 prompts) and custom Enterprise pricing are available through a demo. The trial covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews only. ChatGPT Shopping is tracked on Enterprise. A Command Center dashboard shows how Agents are being used across a marketing team. The Profound MCP works only with the legacy version of Projects.
Pricing (checked October 2026): No public price. A 7-day trial with 50 prompts is available. Enterprise pricing requires a demo. An Agency Growth self-serve plan is mentioned in the FAQ with no price shown.
Choose it if you are a mid-market or enterprise team that needs large-scale analytics, AI agents that publish to a CMS, and enterprise governance such as SSO, SCIM and RBAC.
Best for: Scale-up and enterprise marketing teams that need AI search tracking plus active off-site outreach in one platform.
What it is: AthenaHQ combines AI search monitoring with a Content Hub for generating and publishing content, and an outreach workflow that finds the authors of pages AI cites, drafts pitch emails and tracks them on a Kanban board - emails go from your own mail client.
Also worth knowing: Oracle checks AI responses against your Knowledge Base and flags inaccuracies. ACE (Athena Citation Engine) is Enterprise only - the launch post describes it as a model that predicts citation likelihood. Agencies get a Pitch Workspace with shareable prospect reports. Shopify Catalogue Optimisation generates and publishes product titles, descriptions and FAQs. Unlimited seats with RBAC on all plans.
Pricing (checked October 2026): A free Essential plan, then Starter at US$295/month, then custom Enterprise. API access is a paid add-on on Starter and included on Enterprise. SSO, audit logs and SAML/OIDC are Enterprise only.
Choose it if you need AI search tracking and active off-site outreach in one tool, or you want to publish content to a wide range of CMSs from a single platform.
Best for: Start-up to mid-market teams and agencies that want straightforward AI search monitoring with a low technical barrier.
What it is: Otterly.AI is an AI search monitoring platform. It runs daily tracking across AI engines, offers GEO audits with predictive content scores and personalised recommendations, and produces Brand Reports for benchmarking against competitors.
Also worth knowing: Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini cost extra on every plan - Claude is US$109/month on Standard. Otterly.AI ships frequently: a public API and Claude Skill launched in May 2026, MCP in June, Agent Analytics in August and Brand Profiling on 21 October 2026. It tracks ChatGPT Ads and Shopping Cards, though Ads reporting was paused in September 2026 after OpenAI changed how ads display. Agency Partners get pitch workspaces, more prompts and Looker Studio reports.
Pricing (checked October 2026): US$29/month (Lite) and US$189/month (Standard), with unlimited team members on every plan. Enterprise is custom. SSO, custom terms and custom payment are Enterprise only.
Choose it if you want simple, budget-friendly AI search monitoring with low setup effort and a clear audit-and-recommendation workflow.
Best for: Mid-market and enterprise teams that need AI search monitoring alongside a technical layer that serves optimised content directly to AI agents.
What it is: Scrunch is an AI search monitoring platform with a distinctive technical feature - AXP, which serves a parallel lightweight version of your site to AI user agents via a Cloudflare Snippet, Akamai EdgeWorker or Vercel set-up. It is tracking-led, with optimisation guidance and content diagnostics sitting on top.
Also worth knowing: Scrunch publishes MCP Agent Skills and around 30 ready-made workflows, including one that imports prompts and competitors from a rival tool. Agent traffic can be imported from or exported to analytics, and an AI Referrals API takes Adobe Analytics data. Scrunch's FAQ addresses whether AXP counts as cloaking - search bots such as Googlebot are not routed to AXP. Overages don't block you; the team contacts you instead. Enterprise trials exclude SSO and the Data API.
Pricing (checked October 2026): US$250/month on an annual contract (US$300/month monthly), with 3 users on Starter and extra seats at US$25. Enterprise is custom and adds SAML/OIDC SSO and an Enterprise Data API. RBAC, multi-site and SOC 2 Type II are listed on the homepage.
Choose it if you are a mid-market or enterprise team that wants AI search monitoring paired with a technical content-delivery layer (AXP) that serves optimised pages directly to AI agents.
Semrush is a broad search marketing suite covering keyword research, technical site audits and content toolkits. AI search sits in the AI Visibility Toolkit, which measures visibility, share of voice, sentiment and prompt rankings across ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode and Gemini. Acting on findings means using separate toolkits: the Content Toolkit publishes articles to WordPress via a plugin, and the AI PR Toolkit has a 600,000+ journalist database with AI-written pitches sent from your own domain. The full AI search loop spans multiple paid toolkits, so the total cost is higher than a single plan. Technical SEO knowledge needed is high - you set up domains, competitors and target prompts per engine, and act on site audit findings using multiple toolkits. The MCP is read-only, covering SEO, traffic and market data (AI Visibility data is not listed). Public pricing starts at US$139/month for SEO only; the AI Visibility Toolkit starts on Starter at US$199/month. Advanced and Enterprise are custom. Choose Semrush if you already rely on it as your SEO suite and want AI search monitoring layered on top of existing SEO work.
Ahrefs is an SEO toolset used by SEO specialists and marketers. AI search sits in Brand Radar, which tracks mentions, citations and share of voice. It surfaces citation opportunities and fan-out content gaps but does not tell you what to publish next - a Content Kit is listed as "Soon". Off-site coverage shows YouTube, TikTok and Reddit data and the sources AI cites, but there are no outreach or PR features on the Brand Radar page. Technical SEO knowledge needed is high. The MCP is full and available on all paid plans from Lite, covering Brand Radar reports and management tools. Pricing: Lite at US$129/month with 1 user and 5 tracked prompts; the Brand Radar AI add-on starts at US$199/month on top. Enterprise is US$1,499/month on an annual contract. Prompts are metered as checks (150, 300 and 600 a month on Lite, Standard and Advanced). Ahrefs has also launched Letaido, an AI agent workspace built on its data, listed on the pricing page without a price. Choose Ahrefs if you are already on the platform and want AI search brand tracking integrated with your existing SEO data.
The cheapest published entry prices from the tools in this comparison are Otterly.AI at US$29/month and Geodde at US$189/month (Professional). Peec AI did not publish prices on its pricing page when we checked in October 2026, so you will need to contact them directly. Promptwatch's entry plan is US$95/month (Essential).
Tracking tools measure how often and how accurately AI assistants mention your brand across a set of prompts, and they surface recommendations for what to improve. Execution tools go further and create or publish content on your behalf - changing your AI search visibility, not just reporting on it. Most platforms in this comparison sit somewhere on the spectrum between the two.
Yes. After Search is Geodde's services arm for AI search strategy and execution. It does the work with your team or for you - commercial research into your buyers and their questions, technical fixes on your site, targeting the highest-value questions, content built from interviews with your team (with human review), and reporting on AI search visibility. It works on any CMS and is priced on enquiry. Promptwatch also offers a managed service, but the work is carried out by "agents" rather than a named human team.
Every tool in this comparison has an MCP server. Geodde, Peec AI, AthenaHQ, Otterly.AI and Scrunch offer full MCP (read and write tools) on their standard plans, though Otterly.AI excludes Lite and Scrunch does not state plan availability. Profound's MCP is full but restricted to the Enterprise plan. Ahrefs offers full MCP on all paid plans from Lite. Semrush has a read-only MCP. Promptwatch has a full MCP on every plan.
